Looking to Volunteer as a Coach?

All coaches are volunteers, many start out with their own children at a young age and continue to coach up through the years even into competitive levels of Fastball.

Below is a general list of what is involved with each role:

Head Coach

  • Completes a Coaching Application Form
  • Submit a Criminal Record Check prior to the season
  • Attends practices and games (arrives early and sets up equipment)
  • Plans practices and drills
  • Determines team line-ups for games
  • Develops a thorough understanding of the rules
  • Manages team equipment
  • Sends team communications
  • Liaises with Assistant Coaches

Assistant Coach

  • Completes Coaching Application Form
  • Submit a Criminal Record Check prior to season start
  • Attends practices and games (arrives early and sets up equipment)
  • Assists with practices, drills
  • Runs warm-ups
  • Provides base coaching during games
  • Provides coach pitch 
  • Has a thorough understanding of the rules
  • Helps manage team equipment

On-Field Helpers

  • Helps out during practices as directed by the Head Coach
  • Submits a Criminal Record Check prior to season start

 

Coach Application Form

Coaches are needed at all levels from U7 and up. All Coaches must apply each year. The application can be completed online on our Registration on ramp. This application is for Coaches only.

Criminal record checks

All coaches and parent helpers must have an annual criminal record check complete. This is a mandatory requirement for anyone who steps on the field or in the dugout.

The online system is easy and takes very little time and effort, please apply as soon as possible as it takes between 3-4 weeks to process. Since you are volunteering there is no fee. MAKE A NOTE OF THE CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK CONFIRMATION CODE GIVEN TO YOU . YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE THIS CODE AS PROOF THAT YOU HAVE APPLIED FOR YOUR CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK.

  1. Go to justice.gov.bc.ca/criminalrecordcheck
  2. Enter access code: Contact pgmgfasecretary@gmail.com for the code.
  3. Follow the prompts to complete all of the necessary information.
  4. Your completed CRC will be sent to the PGMGFA President directly.
